    Your Opportunity

    As a part of our renewed focus over the next 10 years, we have a new developed Trade Waste Manager role in our growing Environmental & Industrial Group.

    This role has been designed to ensure legal compliance of our Trade Waste Services, whilst also capitalising on opportunities in the circular economy. You will prioritise the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees and members of the public, ensuring that employees are trained in and adhere to safe working practices and environmental procedures.

    This is an integral leadership role, where you will have the opportunity to mould and shape a diverse and highly talented team of Trade Waste Officers and subject matter experts. By driving a culture of growth and continuous improvement, you will drive and inspire your team to deliver on key team objectives.

    Some of your accountabilities will include:

    • Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values.
    • Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities.
    • Ensure that business activities and individuals (e.g. employees, contractors and visitors) within the area of responsibility adhere to the organization's HS&E policies, procedures and mandatory instructions.
    • Review existing operations through regular audits in Trade Waste to ensure adherence to compliance obligations and implement innovative processes to generate new ideas to ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered.
    • Contribute to the formation of a key element of functional strategy through specialist expertise and insights, to ensure that the strategy meets business needs; manage the Trade Waste budget and revenue plans.

    About You

    We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping our future, and ideally have the following qualifications, skills, and experiences:

    • Tertiary qualifications Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Business, or specialist professional development.
    • You are a demonstrated leader with a proven ability to grow and manage teams. You'll foster an inclusive and high-performing culture to safely deliver exceptional results.
    • You're a critical thinker who naturally builds strong relationships with stakeholders. You excel at collaboration, aligning objectives, and achieving desired outcomes.
    • An understanding of environmental regulations, waste management practices and sustainability principles, and ideally a familiarity with trade waste treatment and disposal.
    • Hold a Queensland Class C driver's licence or equivalent interstate licence to travel to UU operational locations.
