    With over 8,000 staff and more than 1,200 volunteers we provide services to our local community the G21 region which comprises the residents of the City of Greater Geelong, Colac Otway Shire, Golden Plains Shire, Borough of Queenscliff and Surf Coast Shire.     About the Role

    Applications are invited for Provisional Fellows and Advanced Anaesthesia Trainees to join our friendly and supportive department.

    General and speciality fellowships are available, both 6 and 12 month blocks considered. Speciality fellowships include:

  • Cardiac Anaesthesia (1 job:12 months, Feb-Feb)
  • Regional Anaesthesia (2 jobs: 6 months general; 6 months regional, ie 12 months employment)
  • Perioperative Medicine (1 job:12 months Feb-Feb)
  • Airway Fellowship (1 job: 12 months Feb-Feb, please note this is the first time this position has been advertised for a 1 year contract)
  • General Fellowship (6 or 12 months)
  • Other subspecialty anaesthesia fellowships may be available on discussion
  • We will also be jointly recruiting to a position with Werribee Mercy, with 6 months Werribee, 6 months UHG, suit AT but fellow approved (separate contracts for each hospital).

    About The Culture

    The Department of Anaesthesia, Perioperative and Pain Medicine, currently employs approximately 21 full-time, 47 part-time Anaesthetic Consultants and 24 Anaesthetic Registrars.

    The department supports a wide range of clinical anaesthetic services including regional anaesthesia and ultrasound, obstetric and paediatric services, cardiac anaesthesia (including transoesophageal echocardiography) and a benchmark perioperative service (including CPET). The department has a strong commitment to excellence in clinical, education and research activities and a strong focus on preparing senior trainees for consultant practice.
