- Admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland with a current Practising Certificate
- Minimum 8+ years post-qualification experience, with a strong background in native title practice
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to cultivate an inclusive team culture
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant legal areas including native title law, corporation's law, and property law
- Knowledge of cultural, political, and social issues affecting First Nations people
- Litigation experience, preferably in the Federal Court, with excellent negotiation skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to our client's values and objectives, ensuring high-quality services to Indigenous Australians
- Experience in strategic planning, resource allocation, and stakeholder management
- Willingness to travel regularly within Queensland and interstate as required, with a valid driver's licence

OUR CLIENT
Our client, a leading native title service provider, is currently seeking a Deputy Principal Lawyer to join their dynamic team in Brisbane. They provide comprehensive and tailored assistance to native title claimants and Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs).
ROLE
In this role, you will lead an interdisciplinary team to provide legal, research, and corporate services, with a focus on native title determination, variation, and compensation applications. Reporting to the Principal Lawyer, your duties will include overseeing service delivery, providing strategic advice, managing client relationships, and fostering staff development.

Circa. $175k AUD inc super + tax savings (sal sac ) + car + parking + other benefits
