    Description

    The role:

    As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care, in accordance with National Standards for Mental Health Services, Agency policies and procedures, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Registered Nurse - Acute Care Team will:

    • Undertake the delivery of quality care to consumers, families, and carer of the Acute Care Team (ACT) service, based on best practice principles including Recovery Oriented Practice, the Triangle of Care Framework and Trauma Informed Care, within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
    • Provide assertive community based mental health care to consumers, their families, and carers.
    • Work in collaboration with other staff within Community Mental Health Services, Inpatient Mental Health Services, Alcohol and Drug Services and a range of community service providers, to deliver improved outcomes and experiences for people who are experiencing acute mental health concerns.
    • Actively participate in service development, quality improvement and professional development initiatives.

    The team: Mental Health Services Acute Care Team South

    • The ACT team provides opportunities for triage, assessment and treatment of clients over a six week period.
    • No night shifts, two shifts 8am- 4.30pm and 1.30pm - 10pm fully rotational, 7 days a week.
    • Focus on the acute care needs of individuals newly referred to the service.

    Details of Appointment

    Permanent full time, shift-worker (fully rotational) position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

    • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

    Salary: $75,902 - $102,908 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

    • Access to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 - $102,908 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
    • Salary range is in accordance with (insert applicable agreement here)

    Eligibility:

    Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

    1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
    2. Current Driver's Licence
      *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

    1. Possess, or be working towards, a specialist tertiary graduate or postgraduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification
