    The Smith Family is a children's education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

    We are seeking an experienced Program Specialist, Student2Student to join our family. Reporting to the Team Leader, Program Specialists and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, in this role you will play a unique and pivotal role in the support and coordination of our student2student (s2s) program, both within Victoria and across state borders. This role involves centralising various aspects of program delivery, including human resources, program resources, and program quality. You'll provide leadership and guidance to the Victorian and other National Learning for Life teams, shaping the vision of successful delivery and serving as a Subject Matter Expert within the state.

    About our role

    You will be responsible for:

    • Direct management of volunteers involved in s2s
    • Facilitating volunteer training
    • Ongoing support management of volunteers so as to influence the maintenance of satisfaction rates and to ensure volunteers speak highly of their experience with TSF and to retain volunteers year to year
    • Ensure volunteer data is maintained and accurately stored in CONNECT according to TSF requirements (including privacy policy)
    • Work with Program Manager to deliver student2student program successfully; take initiative to provide direction to team members and volunteers and respond to challenges as they occur
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with program representatives from partner schools and relevant community agencies, including initial and ongoing training

    About you

    As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

    • Demonstrated experience supporting groups of volunteers with a 'customer service' approac
    • Demonstrated experience in program delivery
    • Exceptional ability to establish, build and maintain internal and external networks and relationship
    • Ability to engage with, support and manage the contribution of volunteers sourced from a variety of background
    • Demonstrated experience in organisational administration (including computer literacy and time management)
    • Demonstrated experience in presenting and facilitating
    • Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check
