    Our Client provides specialist drilling and blasting services across Australia.

    The Role

    They are currently seeking an experienced Drill and Blast Project Manager to join their team in North Queensland.

    The purpose of the role is to proactively lead and manage the drill and blast work teams and resources to deliver the requirements in terms of safety, effective leadership, product delivery and budget.

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Efficient operation of the drilling fleet by monitoring key performance measures and sustaining continuous improvement processes.
    • Proactively lead the project team in relation to operational safety performance and adherence to processes
    • On-site / off-site client relationships, prepare and attend client progress meetings
    • The on-site management of personnel and subcontractors.
    • Develop and maintain the drill & blast planning and reporting system.
    • Report any significant deviation from the operational plans to the Area Manager
    • Proactive support of continuous improvement measures to deliver clear efficiency and cost benefits.
    • Design and implement safe and efficient equipment and personnel utilisation with forward planning and coordination.
    • Provide coaching and mentoring of personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and effective practices are being followed and adhered to.

    To be considered applicants must have.

    • Strong project management or equivalent experience in the drill and blast industry.
    • Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
    • High level of computer literacy.
    • Advanced communication and relationship building skills.
    • 8+ years in a similar position and industry.
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug screen and National police clearance.
    • Hold a current C class licence.
    • Experience operating blasthole drills in the past (advantageous but not necessary).
