    About the service

    The service is centrally located, close to public transport and shops. There is a dedicated parking spot for the 2IC/Assistant Director. With less than 90 children at full occupancy, this role is manageable and comes with less stress than some of the larger centres in the area.

    We are looking for a strong, aspiring, or experienced leader with experience in a similar setting. You must demonstrate a proven ability to use your communication skills to persuade, engage, inspire, and motivate a team of passionate Educators to deliver optimal learning outcomes for the families being served.

    About the role

    • Assisting the Centre Manager with managing day-to-day operations.
    • Providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to our dedicated staff.
    • Effectively handling the center's financial requirements in line with budget guidelines.
    • Upholding consistent, high-quality standards for centre presentation and work practices.
    • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality early learning programs by our passionate educators.
    • Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with children, families, educators, the local business community, and all stakeholders.
    • Actively participating in attracting, converting, and retaining families through effective management of tours, enrolments, and orientation in collaboration with our Enrolments Team.

    The non-negotiables

    • Minimum one years' experience mentoring a team as an Assistant Director.
    • A sound understanding and application of the Early Years Learning Framework.
    • Experience in overseeing and implementing a program based on children's needs and interests.
    • A strong understanding of compliance and of National Quality Standards (NQF).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Sound experience in supporting the staff management of a medium to large childcare service.
    • The ability to support and work collaboratively with your team, and assist and support the Centre Director in the general day-to-day running of the service.
    • The ability to manage and lead community engagement.
