This is an exciting opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in machine learning and fairness. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to advancing the field of artificial intelligence.

To succeed in this role, you should hold a PhD in machine learning, computer science, statistics or applied mathematics. You must have less than three years of relevant postdoctoral experience and be eager to develop your skills further.

Project Focus:

The project aims to investigate biases in machine learning algorithms that impact high-stake decisions such as credit scoring and judicial sentencing. While there has been progress towards more equitable algorithms, understanding how various bias sources combine remains limited.

Benefits:

Your salary will be AU$92k - AU$101k plus up to 15.4% superannuation.
