    Job Description

    We are looking for a Financial Accountant, Reporting & Control to join our busy financial reporting and control team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

    In this key role as part of the Financial Reporting & Control (FR&C) team, you will facilitate a robust financial control and financial accounting environment within Cuscal.

    This role will include specific duties covering month end close, General Ledger reconciliations, internal financial reporting, external regulatory reporting, and the half-year and year end Statutory reporting processes.

    In addition, the role will provide accounting support and advice to the wider Finance function to minimise audit risk.

    The responsibilities in this role include but are not limited to the following:

    Month End:

    • Completion of assigned general journals and other central accounting tasks in order for FR&C to arrive at a month end close.
    • Ensure all journal entries are posted in accordance with internal policy, and comply with relevant accounting standards.

    Financial Control:

    • Perform GL reconciliations as assigned and resolve and escalate issues in accordance with policy.
    • Assist in maintaining systems as they relate to the Financial Reporting function.
    • Ensure ledger records and financial data satisfies audit requirements.
    • Ensure all assigned tasks are performed per documented internal policies.
    • Ensure all assigned tasks have up to date procedures and are sufficiently cross trained.

    Financial Reporting:

    • Produce standard and ad-hoc financial and regulatory reporting as assigned.
    • Assist in the production of half year and year end statutory accounts and associated analysis pack (including analysis packs and "left hand notes")
    • For all assigned reports, ensure Cuscal maintains compliance with various regulators in terms of content, accuracy, and timeliness.

    Qualifications

    About You

    To be successful in this position you will have the following skills and experience:

    • Experience in a financial accounting function (~3-5 years' experience).
    • Strong approach to financial control, particularly around the GL reconciliation process.
    • Sound experience in use of excel in accounting processes and reporting.
    • Ability to deliver to timelines.
    • Strong consideration of risk in day-to-day tasks.

    Although not required any experience in the following would be highly desirable:

    • Ability to identify and deliver process improvements.
    • Experience with TM1 or similar application.
    • Other relevant experience in the Financial Services Industry.
