    About the role

    The NDIS Access Coordinator's key role function is to coordinate access, connection and support services for NDIS clients seeking assistance from ATSICHS. The role will assist in building connections and engaging support services while building capacity and enabling participants to live more independently and be included in their communities. In addition the NDIS ACS Coordinator will provide assistance to prospective ATSICHS clients who are applying to be a participant in the NDIS at all stages including applications and appeals in order to improve acceptance rate of 'Access Request' applications for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with a disability.

    Duties

    • Work with ATISCHS clients who are potential participants to provide support and assistance during the NDIS application process and applicable next steps.
    • Effective case management and accurate data tracking/reporting.
    • Create linkages with the community through communication and marketing and community engagement
    • Commit to a high level of quality management for ATSICHS through use of LogiQC quality management systems
    • Strive to always be delivering high quality assistance to clients
    • Maintain systems and undertake process enhancements.
    • Create linkages within the community through communication and marketing and community engagement
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, guidelines and ATSICHS policies procedures and values
    • Cultivate productive working relationships at all levels, which support the nurturing of internal and external relationships, facilitates cooperation, trust and respect, values differences and diversity and guides, mentors and focuses on the development of staff.

    • $64,236 per annum (depending on qualification and experience)
    • 11% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay).

    COVID - 19 Requirements

    • Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid 19 vaccine is encouraged.

    Essential:

    • Certificate III or higher qualifications in Health Care, Social Assistance, Community Services or Administration.
    • Knowledge, understanding and/or awareness of the NDIS space and the challenges the participants may face
    • Demonstrated ability to record accurate and consistent case notes.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply practice judgement when working with clients in building capacity to achieve goals.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of direction and to effectively communicate with and work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and to contribute to the development of creative and innovative services.
    • Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
    • Previous experience in working with culturally diverse people.
    • Ability to communicate sensitivity and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
    • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Suite Applications.
    • Current Drivers Licence (Qld).
    • Current National Police Clearance or ability to obtain.
    • Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.

    Desirable

    • Previous experience of working with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander clients.
    • Previous experience in working with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
