    About Blackwater Mine:

    Situated kilometres south-east of Emerald, Blackwater is the second-largest open-cut metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin. This long-life operation began in 7 and has grown to become one of the longest coal mines in the Southern Hemisphere, with a strike length of kilometres. Blackwater extracts high quality metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market using truck and shovel, as well as loader and dragline.

    What You'll Do

  • Ensure maintenance activities prioritise safety, through effective hazard identification and risk management.
  • Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, and developmental activities to members of the team driving a positive workplace culture
  • Ensure work order feedback and closeouts are completed accurately to improve maintenance efficiencies.
  • Provide technical support to contracts and warehouse personnel for procurement and management of parts.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager & Superintendents in implementing safety plans
  • Drive continuous improvement, ensuring cost saving and production efficiency
  • What You'll Bring

  • Tertiary Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate (as relevant).
  • Extensive demonstrated experience in the mining or heavy industry or processing plant with strong working knowledge of Maintenance, Planning and CMMS.
  • Strong commitment to safety and a continuous improvement culture.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation with excellent presentation and reporting skills.
  • RIIRIS / RIIWHS / RIICOM / RIIRIS (formerly S1, S2, S3, G2)
