    Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Group Financial Accountant has the following key accountabilities:


    Supporting financial reporting to stakeholders including external regulators, internal business unit management and external audit relationships through strong balance sheet management, financial control and governance activities across the MMS businesses.

    The review and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, including documentation of the accounting judgements applied to the treatment of various business transactions and resulting accounting impacts.

    Contribute technical accounting advice and ensure the correct financial processing that supports day to day financial management for the respective MMS businesses is undertaken in the general ledger.

    Recommending improvements to financial control and reporting frameworks and processes to support the efficient and effective preparation of financial statements for the MMS Group and its subsidiaries.

    Intercompany transaction management and contribute to capital management and treasury and banking operations.

    To accomplish this, the Financial Controller role will have the following key responsibilities:

    Ensuring that MMS financial statements disclosures and preparation satisfies all accounting standards and guidance, and is also best practice.

    Completion of Month End Accounting Close processes and monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, including proactive follow up of aged balances and/or reconciling variances.

    Taking a lead role in the half year and year end financial statement audits - ensuring all support is accurate and provided to the external audit team in a timely manner, and addressing additional audit queries
    Providing relevant analysis and commentary regarding statutory results to support other financial reporting requirements and internal performance management

    Documentation of the relevant accounting policies and/or accounting treatments for the Group and its subsidiaries, and treatments are consistent applied.

    Provide (or support the provision of) technical accounting advice to business unit management and senior leaders to ensure impacts of business transactions are clear and properly processed.

    To be considered for this role you will bring:

    Relevant accounting qualification from membership of professional Accounting bodies (CA ANZ, CPA)
    At least 6 years of Financial reporting and Accounting experience
    Strong technical accounting knowledge including the application of IFRS
    Knowledge of financial reporting and operational processes and accounting systems/applications.
    Experience with general ledger applications including JD Edwards or similar (desired but not essential).
    Commitment and proven ability to provide a high level of customer service
    Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with business managers and other senior leadersWhat we can offer you:
