    Responsible for legal advice and other services to the Vice-Chancellor, the Chief Operating Office, the Vice-Chancellor's Senior Team (VCST) and the Academic Board.

    • HEW Level 8 - $106,116 p.a. plus up to 17% superannuation

    About the role

    The Lawyer is responsible for providing legal advice and other services to the Vice-Chancellor, the Chief Operating Office, the Vice-Chancellor's Senior Team (VCST) and the Academic Board.

    You will:

    • provide high quality legal services and proactive, strategic legal advice to the University in a broad range of legal areas;
    • review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts and other legal documents;
    • develop and maintain expertise in applicable Commonwealth and State legislation and regulatory frameworks; and
    • ensure high-quality customer focused service.

    About you

    The Lawyer requires a high level of skill in developing and maintaining relationships of trust and confidence with a wide range of stakeholders and the possession of strong negotiation and influencing skills.

    You will possess:

    • demonstrated knowledge and experience in contract and commercial law;
    • experience in administrative or public law preferred;
    • demonstrated ability to exercise professional and independent judgement to achieve the objectives; and
    • demonstrated ability to build productive relationships and deliver pragmatic solutions for clients
