    Job Title: Data Business Analyst - Reconciliation

    Company: Global Bank

    Location: Sydney, Australia

    Duration: 12-month Contract (with possibility of extension)

    Overview: Technical Business Analyst specializing in reconciliation, and exposore to capital markets. This role involves working with large volumes of data in a cloud environment, particularly AWS data warehouse, with a focus on reconciliation processes within accounting, treasury, and capital markets. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in SQL, SharePoint, and have a general awareness of regulatory programs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Identify breaks in daily and monthly reconciliation processes.
    2. Work with stakeholders across this area of the bank
    3. Investigate reconciliation breaks according to defined procedures.
    4. Utilize SQL to query databases and analyze large datasets to identify potential causes of breaks.
    5. Assist with root cause analysis and establish data linkages.
    6. Create manual adjustments based on operating principles and thresholds.
    7. Upload adjustments to SharePoint and validate their ingestion into the database.
    8. Track and monitor reconciliation breaks using tools such as JIRA.
    9. Collaborate within agile teams to raise awareness of breaks and reconciliation risks.

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years experience as a Data Business Analyst
    • Minimum 2 years within banking
    • Agile project delivery experience
    • Proficiency in SQL (intermediate) and experience working in a cloud environment, preferably AWS data warehouse.
    • Strong understanding of reconciliation processes in accounting, treasury, or capital markets.
    • Experience with SharePoint for file management.
    • Ability to analyze large volumes of data and perform root cause analysis.
    • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
    • Proactive nature with the ability to highlight risks in a timely manner.
    • 3 days a week in the Sydney office

    Additional Information:

    • This position offers a competitive day rate and is expected to be filled by the end of April.
    • The role may involve extension beyond the initial contract period, depending on project requirements and process maturation.
