With us you can kick start your employment as an early career nurse or midwife through our comprehensive and individually tailored program. With full time or part time options available (minimum 0.8 FTE), our 12-month program is coupled with an additional Consolidation Year to further support your transition to practice and develop your clinical skills and knowledge.

    Hunter Valley Private Hospital was established by the Masons in 1965, purchased by the Hunter Valley Private Hospital in 1985, and in November 2015 purchased by Healthscope.     Dedicated to caring for people and families living in the Hunter region, at Hunter Valley Private Hospital our focus is you. Your expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and other professionals will ensure your experience is the best it can be.

    We provide a range of clinical services including ophthalmology, orthopaedics, plastics, gastroenterology, pain management, general surgery and ENT surgery. We are also renowned for our rehabilitation program and medical services.

    Registered Nurses at Healthscope perform a wide range of activities in pursuit of delivering a high quality patient experience. Every day is different and may include assessing patients, administering medications, providing wound care and educating patients and their families about health conditions. You will need to collaborate with other healthcare professionals, advocate for your patients and provide support to patients and their families. You will have the opportunity to continually develop, improve and promote best evidence-based practice.
