    The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager is accountable for the development and implementation of the site's HSE Management System, to achieve and maintain a high standard of safety & environmental performance.

    The role accountability primarily focuses on the Ballarat manufacturing site but may also support the broader business unit for keysafetyprojects.

    The role leads asmall team ofHSEprofessionals andcontractors who support the development and delivery of the overall HSE strategy.

    The HSE Manager's functional responsibilities include developing and maintaining Health, Safety, Environmental andSecuritysystems, policies and procedures, which facilitate the Site's compliance with community expectations, Mars Corporate and Government laws, regulations and standards.

    The role is a key member of the Factory Management Team.
    What are we looking for?
    Minimum 10 years' experience in a multinational manufacturing / FMCG environmentDegree qualifications in safety, engineering, science, environmental management (or other equivalent qualification)Auditor qualificationsand experienceleadingaWork SafeSelf-InsuranceProgram(preferred)What would be your key responsibilities?

    Development and implementation of the site HSE strategy to enhance the Safety & Health Management System to meet and exceed the requirements of Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act,ISO45001, internal and external audit requirements, Work Safe self-insurance programand all applicable local and national occupational health and safety regulatory requirements as well as MarsGlobal Safety & Health Standards.

    Development and implementation of the Company's Environmental Management System and Sustainability Programs at Ballarat to meet and exceed all local regulatory requirements, ISO 14001 requirements and Mars Global Environmental Standards.

    Together with multiple stakeholders set HSE targets and deliver against them.

    Coordinate all company environmental and safety & health licenses and permits and support the liaison with EPA, Central Highlands Water, Local Council, Work Cover and other regulatory and non-regulatory bodies.

    Maintaining a high level of environmental, safety and health awareness among associates at all levels of the organization.

    Development and implementation of the Company's Waste Management and Recycling Programs with the aim of reducing waste generation and increasing recycling / reuse opportunities.

    This includes management of all hazardous as well as non-hazardous waste streams generated on Ballarat site.

    Liaising with engineering, maintenance and production and assist in reviewing andevaluating ESH and sustainability requirements for new facilities and CAPEX projectsIdentify the health, safety and environmental training requirements and work with the management team to develop and deliver environmental, safety and health results.

    Maintain the SIG management program, includingrecordingSIG metrics and participate in identifying and implanting opportunities that moves the business towards achieving the SIG goals.
