    ABOUT THE ROLE

    TAFE NSW is seeking a permanent full time Technical Assistant (Automotive) to work in the Automotive teaching section. The role is responsible for providing support in the preparation of materials and equipment to support educational delivery. In the role, you will ensure the ongoing care and maintenance of equipment, facilities, and grounds with the teaching section.
    The role involves offering support to the teaching staff in the delivery of assessment and training of practical tasks. As well as maintaining the tools and equipment utilised by the teaching section in accordance with Work, Health and Safety requirements.

    ABOUT YOU

    To succeed in the role, you must have demonstrated skills and current experience in the automotive industry.
    You will be required to use your strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers and service providers. You are a self-driven and disciplined individual who will take ownership of your tasks without supervision and apply your advanced organisational skills to plan, maintain and support the practical delivery within the facility.

    To be successful in this role you:

    1. Have three to five years proven experience working within the automotive environment, or related work areas, and have knowledge of tools and equipment.
    2. Can demonstrate how you meet the focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.
    3. Considered highly desirable is the Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical and/or the Certificate III in Automotive Electrical, however not an essential requirement.
