    Our Opportunity

    Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue's Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

    Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth

    Reporting to the Iron Bridge Senior Project Engineer, this role will be responsible for the maintenance and operations of the processing assets including the Ore Processing Facility and the Concentrate Handling Facility (OPF and CHF) via the management/execution of key assets. The Structural Engineer is to provide project leadership and stewardship in support of the maintenance, operational, and shutdown teams in the processing plants.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Site based Project Management ensuring adherence to SIMP (Structural Integrity Management Plan) protocols.
    • Effectively manage classified plant, structural integrity, and tank safety by physically inspecting equipment, documenting conditions in SAP, and creating maintenance plans.
    • Ensure timely completion of remedial work and follow-ups on notifications.
    • Document and maintain accessible records for tests, inspections, maintenance, and commissioning of registerable plant.
    • Manage a team of tradespeople and contractors for pressure equipment and rotatble pressure vessel inspections, monitoring compliance and project progress.
    • Regularly review Maintenance Requests and maintain project documentation to required standards.
    • Collaborate with operational peers to align milestones with operational requirements and ensure project compliance.
    • Ensuring on–site compliance with safety protocols.
    • Assist Senior Project Engineer in ensuring adherence to SIMP and compliance requirements.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Fixed plant ore processing or heavy industry experience in an engineering, trade and/or projects role.
    • Qualification in Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Prior experience managing a team of tradespeople and contractors.
    • Proficiency with Structural Integrity requirements, Tanks Integrity requirements and classified plant equipment integrity requirements.
    • Knowledge of SIMP requirements.
    • Advanced Excel skills.
    • Great communication skills; ability to facilitate meetings and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
