    Operations Director

    The role of an Operations Director is crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of production operations across two sites. Key responsibilities include managing and overseeing all aspects of production, including product quality, compliance, audit readiness, customer relationships, and operational efficiency. This involves direct responsibility for safety and operational compliance systems, process improvements, and team leadership across the division, as well as managing all facets of logistics to ensure a seamless operation and to continually meet customer expectations.

    Key tasks include:
    • Managing the end-to-end production process across two sites to ensure product quality is maintained to customer and regulatory specifications.
    • Monitoring and improving operational performance and preventing reduction of product loss.
    • Overseeing the processing, storage, and dispatch of all products to ensure timely and in-spec delivery to customers.
    • Maintaining plant, working with maintenance to schedule repairs.
    • Maintaining and leading site-wide compliance systems including DAFF, EPA, and WHS.
    • Ensuring ongoing compliance with standards and audits required by DAFF, EPA, export authorities.
    • Managing relationships with outsourced raw material providers.
    • Maximising profitability through efficient operations.
    • Ensuring property damage is minimised and reported immediately where it occurs.
    • Freight Management.
    • Leading, mentoring, and supporting teams and driving a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
    • Collaborating with site leadership to ensure team capability aligns with operational needs and business goals.
    • Overseeing workforce planning and training initiatives to maintain compliance and operational effectiveness.

    What We Are Looking For:

    We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in manufacturing operations management. Ideal candidates will have;
    • Experience in the manufacturing industry.
    • Tertiary qualifications.
    • Forklift licence.
    • Drivers licence.
    • Experience with internal and external audits.
    • Passion for continuous improvement to ensure the highest level of safety is achieved.
    • Sound computer skills (particularly in MS Office Suite and I Leader) and high level of administrative skills.
    • Strong and ethical leader with good written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise a dynamic workload within given timeframes.
    • Excellent time management skills without compromising standard, service, or quality.
    • Manage and build positive relationships (internal and external).
    • Maintain confidentiality with regards to all tasks.
    • Respect the values and diversity of others.
    • Act decisively, honestly and with integrity at all times.
    • Ability to work in pressure situations with competing workplace priorities.
    • Ability to travel as required.
