APS6 Senior Finance Officer - Canberra, Australia - Randstad

Randstad is currently seeking an experienced and motivated APS4 Finance officer and an APS6 Senior Finance Officer to join our dynamic team within the Federal Government. As an integral part of the Finance Division, you will play a key role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the achievement of our organizational goals.

Note: Due to the nature of work, you MUST be a permanent employee at an APS4 of APS6 level within the federal government ( This opportunity only offers S26 option )

Your new role

The successful Finance Officer is accountable under general direction to undertake moderately complex finance related activities and tasks within established procedures and guidance.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to

• The successful candidate will facilitate accounts payable and process them for the company
• Management of Cabcharge and assist with the management of credit cards
• Liaise with the relevant work area to check the accuracy of invoices received by the agency and to ensure that appropriate approvals have been obtained prior to payment.
• Responsibility for the creation of traveler profiles in SAP, AOT, QBT and Technology-One Financials
• Providing guidance and assistance to other areas of the agency in relation to straightforward procurement, finance and travel matters
• Review credit card acquittals and ensure that the relevant supporting documentation has been provided by staff and that content has been coded correctly;
• Extracting information from Technology One Financials (such as contract expenditure) and preparing basic reports in response to requests for information or to support the preparation of corporate or compliance reports
• Providing administrative support and coordination for the Finance area.
• Providing advice and assistance on policies, processes and systems relating to procurement, accounts payable, cab-charge, Whole of Australian Government (WoAG) travel and credit cards

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or equivalent academic specialization are highly desirable. Also, the experience to work on SAP, TEchOne and Treasury systems.

To be successful in this role you must be an Australian Citizen and have relevant experience in Government Department and / or in a similar position. You must have a minimum of an active Baseline clearance.
