    Description

    The Position:
    We are currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced Emergency Medicine Consultants to provide specialist emergency services to adult and paediatric patients. The consultants will promote patient quality and safe care and provide leadership, training, supervision, mentorship and education to doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers.

    Emergency Department:

    • 48 clinical treatment bays, including 3 resuscitation bays.
    • separate Paediatric assessment unit
    • 12 bed ED short stay unit
    • 48-bed department
    • 75,000 presentations per year with an admission rate of approximately 30%.
    • FACEM-lead team-based care.

    The Hospital:
    With a total of 367 beds, 307 for public patients and 60 for private patients, the hospitals will be conveniently located within one complex, bringing health care closer to home. The public hospital's state-of-the-art facilities will deliver newer and expanded services than those currently provided.

    The Location:
    The City Centre has a relaxed, casual atmosphere and is a combination of cultural, civic, commercial, and residential properties built on the edge of the stunning Lake.

    Essential:
    You will hold registration with FACEM (Fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine) or equivalent professional membership and have demonstrated substantial clinical experience in the management of high acuity patients in a complex hospital environment.
