    Job Description

    The Junior Data Modeller role is part of our BI & Analytics team, focusing on leveraging large data sets to develop robust data models for organizational use. You'll have the opportunity to work with complex data, developing strategic models for analytics, business intelligence, self-service, machine learning models, and other data-driven projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Create standardized logical and physical data models and tables using best practices, ensuring high data quality and reduced redundancy.
    • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing data.
    • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and implement solutions.
    • Surface enriched enterprise-level views to enable data-driven decisions through close work with the business and BI analysts.
    • Advise on processes supporting the application of appropriate modelling, including designing and documenting mappings.
    • Ensure Data Governance standards are incorporated at the implementation level.
    • Provide support to data quality and data validation through analysis of data.
    • Help drive continuous improvements to data quality procedures and consistency in measuring, monitoring, and reporting data quality.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree qualification in engineering, technology, or quantitative discipline.
    • Experience with Cloud-based Technologies and databases, with GCP and Snowflake experience advantageous.
    • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration techniques in cloud environments.
    • Exposure to Python and shell scripting beneficial.
    • Experience in designing and implementing dbt pipelines, setting up monitoring, and troubleshooting issues.
    • Data and technical background demonstrating innovation, initiative, and passion for data.
    • Confidence in collecting, collating, and interpreting business requirements to produce quality outcomes.
    • Experience working with various stakeholders to gather data requirements and provide solutions.
