    Suncorp Group are looking for the best-in-class Financial Hardship Assessor to join their team. This is an exciting permanent full-time role based in Brisbane.

    As a Financial Hardship Assessor, you will be providing customers with genuine assistance through periods of agreed financial hardship onto managing the assistance until the agreement has finished in accordance with business policy.

    What you'll do

    • Assist customers with their hardship enquiry by assessing applications and making recommendations
    • Determine the most appropriate course of action to provide a genuine assessment to assist Suncorp Customers experiencing periods of financial hardship
    • Completion of summary Loan File checks, if applicable, to review initial customer lending
    • Provide empathy to customers and direct to appropriate counselling services where necessary
    • Provide guidance and information to customers where a Hardship Notice is evidenced
    • Maintain relationship and regular contact with allocated customers until such time that their financial difficulties have remedied, or other alternatives have been sought

    • Understanding of the legal and regulatory framework in which team must operate is desired
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
    • Ability to negotiate or mediate – able to handle difficult emotive recovery situations in a caring assertive manner
    • Ability to critically assess data, subjective material and other inputs to make objective judgements
