About the Role:

The R&D Project Manager will manage the project management framework for the Development department within Chrysos.

This role reports to the Product Development Manager and involves implementing a new product introduction system within the Chrysos Development department using a modified Stage Gate methodology.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Implement and Improve Project Management Standards: Build, drive, and continuously improve project management practices and standards across Chrysos development teams.
2. End-to-End Project Management: Oversee all phases of project lifecycles, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and delivering measurable outcomes.
3. Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead multidisciplinary project teams encompassing engineering, physics, software, technology, and operations.
4. Resource and Risk Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources while identifying, tracking, and mitigating risks.
5. Performance Monitoring: Track project performance and metrics to ensure milestones are met, outcomes are achieved, and continuous improvements are made.
6. Safety First: Contribute to ensuring a safe work environment and have an eye and voice for safety.
7. External Partnering: Work closely with key partners and suppliers for the development of the next generation of PhotonAssay Max analysers.
8. Drive Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation within project teams, promoting creative problem-solving and high-impact results.

Requirements:

• Education: A tertiary qualification in engineering, science, project management, or a similar complex technical field.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of R&D processes and stage-gate methodologies.
• Project Management: Proven ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Leadership: Skilled in leading cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and driving accountability.
• Innovation and Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to address complex technical and business challenges with creative solutions.
• Communication: Exceptional skills in presenting technical and commercial information to diverse stakeholders.
• Emotional Intelligence: High level of emotional intelligence, enabling effective conflict resolution and empathetic communication.
• Budget and Resource Management: Competence in forecasting and managing project budgets, resources, and schedules efficiently.

Desirable:

Able and willing to travel both interstate and internationally (subject to Australian Government travel restrictions).
