    The client
    A major T1 mining house with various sites across WA. They are undertaking a major upgrade at one of their sites to assist with processing high density ore. This job is offered on an initial 12-month contract, with chance to extend. Predominantly Perth-based, you will on occassion head to site on an ad-hoc basis. Otherwise, Mon-Fri at the client's CBD-based office. There are WFH options available as well.

    The job
    Reporting to the package lead, you will be the fourth Project Engineer to join the team. The package goal is to upgrade the existing infrastructure to accommodate a high-density ore to the existing conveyors. This will require changes, modifications and improvements to be made to the existing conveyor drives, structural steelwork, HV/LV electrical and controls infrastructure.

    Your scope is to provide support of the mechanical aspects of the package, which involves the replacement of 630, 800 & 1000kW drives and gearboxes. Structural modifications are also necessary to facilitate the upgrade

    Daily duties will include:

    Oversee the day-to-day delivery of the mechanical aspects of the package, including the management of scope delivery, TQ's, Change Management with Contractors and their Sub-Contractors.
    - Regular attendance and participation in meetings.
    - Liaise with Engineering Consultants to ensure designs are compliant with Project and Business objectives.
    - Work with package lead to develop the implementation Scope of Work and Tender Documentation for Vendor pricing.
    - Complete field inspections of work, focusing on Safety, Quality and Scope compliance
    - Work with site construction support team and build relationship with key stakeholders.
    - Project reporting to internal stakeholders and management.

    What you'll need:
    - Mechanical engineering degree;
    - SMP experience;
    - Mining & resources expereince;
    - Experience working for the client side;
    - Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills;
    - Intermediate MS Office skills (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.);
    - Working knowledge in MS Project and Primavera P6; and
    - Ability to work autonomously, show initiative and be driven to achieve results.
