    About the role

    The Analyst is a key member of the team required to support coordination, reporting and interface with Paris, the investment strategy (greenfield, tenders, partnerships, or M&A), bring Projects to Financial Close and facilitate the general development of projects in line with REN strategy until NTP.

    • Implement and provide assistance to develop the business development strategy:
    • Understand and implement the BD strategy for Australia, recognizing the market maturity, business constraints (including regulations), Company's strategy, and other contextual elements (considering articulation with Integrated Power - IP);
    • Prepare analysis to evaluate new and existing projects and ongoing business development activities and for internal decision papers and presentations, particularly:
      • Ongoing financial analysis and tracking economics throughout a project's development lifecycle
      • Maintenance of up-to-date financing assumptions and bankability requirements
    • Engage with colleagues/consultants to understand and evaluate project risks and opportunities
    • Support any interface requirements with Paris HQ for reporting purposes across all teams, including preparing any reports and presentations, populating any reporting platforms/tools, implementing corporate processes and systems, coordinating with teams to collate information, attending calls and preparing templates
    • Support the progress of assigned projects to Financial Close by:
      • preparing and maintaining budgets and schedules;
      • implementing project management structure and drive outcomes according to operational needs are met in line with agreed timelines, while maintaining consistent quality of work;
      • preparing RFPs for PPA bids;
      • supporting negotiation of PPAs;
      • understanding and ensuring project meets bankability requirements;
      • working across teams, particularly procurement team, to refine/optimise modelling assumptions; and
      • assisting with financing processes, including preparing marketing materials /IMs, coordinating due diligence streams and financial analysis including lender sensitivity analysis.
    • Prepare analysis and review modelling assumptions that will inform investment decision making and participate as required in governance committee activities;
    • Support interface and communications with all internal stakeholders (development, grid, engineering, procurement & construction, legal, etc) as well as with external stakeholders on assigned projects.
    • Support the department head to engage with the Integrated Power business unit and contribute to IP's and Company's management understanding of the market.
    • Support partnerships and acquisitions strategy:
    • Support partnership and acquisition opportunities, in close coordination with M&A teams;
    • Takes guidance on and actions assigned commercial negotiations and deal structuring of development and partnership agreements; and
    • Guide assigned projects through Company's decision-making bodies up to Financial Close, in coordination with and with the support of the department head and HQ teams.
    • Contribute to the execution of the digital roadmap to support the BD process
    • Supports Head of department to organise effective reporting to MD and central Business Coordination, for overall monitoring and for the Project Development decision process

    Qualifications

    • Master degree of Business or Engineering or other relevant degrees;
    • Strong experience in financial modelling or the development and commercialization of renewable energy projects;
    • Minimum 2-3 years' in project finance or development /commercialization of infrastructure/energy assets;
    • Understanding of renewable energy markets and technology;
    • Self-motivated team player, with the ability to lead and take initiative;
    • Strong attention to detail, project management skills and a highly organized approach to work;
    • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal;
    • Outstanding presentation skills, with the ability to concisely communicate complex and detailed information ensuring it is appropriate to the audience;
    • Agile team player who is across the detail and maintain focus on strategic objectives;
    • Current Australian Driver's License;
    • Able to travel nationally as required; and

    Ad hoc duties as required.
