    The Role The Manager, Policy & Advocacy is a pivotal position responsible for spearheading COSBOA's policy advocacy initiatives across key domains including industrial relations, skilled migration, workforce development, digitisation, and tax.
    COSBOA is the forefront representative of Australia's small business community to national decision-makers, regulators, and stakeholders. Alongside the CEO the Manager, Policy & Advocacy plays a crucial role in shaping and implementing strategic policy objectives.
    Stakeholder Engagement & Management

    • Engage and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
    • Establish and maintain strategic relationships
    • Present policy issues and updates to relevant audiences
    Policy Research & Analysis
    • Develop and advocate COSBOA's policy positions
    • Conduct comprehensive policy and industry research
    • Identify issues impacting Australia's small business community
    Strategic Planning & Execution
    • Formulate and implement policy strategies
    • Update and maintain COSBOA's Advocacy Framework
    • Monitor and evaluate policy impacts and effectiveness
    Regulatory Compliance & Submission Management
    • Manage and oversee government submissions
    • Coordinate with regulatory bodies as needed
    • Ensure all advocacy efforts comply with relevant regulations
    About You You'll possess a deep understanding of government processes and structures. You'll exhibit exceptional communication, research, and analytical skills with the ability to build strong relationships with government and external networks. You'll drive change through evidence-based policy initiatives and have the gravitas to represent COSBOA in various forums and meetings.
    This role requires a proven capability to extract business insights and formulate policy solutions, while collaborating effectively with members and stakeholders and influencing outcomes.
    Skills & Experience
    • Degree or equivalent experience in Policy, Economics, Business, or related fields
    • Confidence in engaging with senior government and external executives
    • Extensive experience in developing and implementing policy solutions
    • Engaging and influencing decision-makers
    • Working with small business entities or associations
