    Location: Townsville, Australia

    Position Overview: As an HSE Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, promoting a culture of safety, and mitigating risks associated with project activities. Your responsibilities will include developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive HSE management systems and procedures aligned with local regulations, international standards, and company policies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE management systems and procedures for infrastructure projects.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and mitigate risk.
    • Conduct safety audits and monitor performance data to identify areas for improvement.
    • Provide guidance on subcontractor management to ensure adherence to safety standards.
    • Partner with operational leads, the wider safety community, and clients to drive safety objectives and performance.
    • Coach and support teams in achieving safety targets and fostering a culture of safety awareness.
    • Evaluate and implement safety policies and procedures to enhance safety performance.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote safety awareness and best practices.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Diploma or higher qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
    • Prior safety experience in a project environment, preferably in civil construction.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at various business levels.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to drive informed decision-making.
    • Strategic thinking and the ability to consider both client and local objectives.
    • Experience in conducting safety audits and investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
