    Description

    Senior Secondary Design Engineer

    A leading design, engineering and advisory company seeks a skilled engineer to contribute to shaping the future of energy infrastructure.

    The successful candidate will have expertise in substation secondary design, transmission and distribution industry standards, and electrical utilities. They will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver projects on time and budget.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct and lead detailed designs and technical reports for clients.
    • Deliver concept-to-detailed design of substation secondary systems.
    • Design secondary systems, including SLDs, layouts, equipment lists, clearance checks, and short circuit force calculations.
    • Understand critical technical aspects of projects, implementation, and integration for complex systems.
    • Focus on transmission and distribution substations' secondary systems electrical design, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, and room layout.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor degree qualification in electrical (or related) engineering.
    • 5-10 years experience in substation secondary design, preferably in a consulting environment.
    • Knowledge of transmission and distribution industry standards and codes in Australia.
    • Strong electrical design skills, particularly in secondary systems and substations.
    • Leadership capabilities, including influencing, motivation, and delegation skills.
