    As we continue our transformation and growth journey in the region, we are now looking to appoint a National Fleet & Equipment Manager to join our Australian Transport team here in Melbourne.

    Reporting to the Director Transport, Australia, the purpose of this role is to manage national fleet and equipment operations and strategy for Lineage, delivering the business' requirements in terms of product, delivery and service whilst managing to commercial targets.

    This is achieved through fostering a flexible work team approach which focuses on efficiency, waste reduction, quality, compliance, safety and continuous improvement, whilst meeting and exceeding business expectations.

    This role is key to continually supporting the implementation of best practice Fleet vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance across the national fleet.

    Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing, managing and communicating the fleet & equipment replacement strategy
  • Responsibility for the liaison and management of all fleet-related vendors
  • Developing and maintaining internal & external relationships that allow for high levels of engagement and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring contracts, arrangements and procedures are set up and managed to enable the safe and efficient operation of the fleet and equipment assets.
  • Taking an active role in the development of realistic but stretched capex and opex budgets and managing them effectively to achieve budgeted outcomes.
  • Providing support to the COR/Compliance team with respect to heavy commercial vehicle compliance to internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Your background and experience should ideally include:

  • Extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Mechanical qualifications.
  • Experience leading small – medium teams in a matrix environment.
  • A proven track record in the implementation of safety procedures, product safety, quality and legality issues
  • A safety-first mindset and demonstrable experience in leading and supporting safety initiatives and improvements.
  • Impressive customer service, problem solving and influencing skills.
  • Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office, Fleet Management Systems, Fleet Telematics)
