    About the Department for Correctional Services

    The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending.     Duties

    The Business Centre Manager is responsible to the General Manager and Regional Director for managing high level business support services within a geographical region and providing expert advice and support to the Regional Management Team, including exercising appropriate delegations in the following service provision areas:

    • Business improvement and related services
    • Human resources services, including training
    • Financial and physical resource services
    • Procurement services
    • Risk management and work health and safety services; and
    • Supervision of support services staff located in the Correctional Business Centre.
    • The Business Centre Manager is required to pro-actively ensure the provision of high quality support to all Managers and staff within a a geographical region.

    Special Conditions

    • Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
    • The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;
    • A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential;
    • A flexible approach to working hours is required;
    • Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

    Requirements

    Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or Human Resource Management
