    About the Role

    An exciting opportunity for a Sr Mechanical Engineer to be part of our EAPNG Technical Engineering Department. Based at Santos' Brisbane office, this role is to implement and deliver on specific tasks within Cooper Onshore Reliability Engineering's strategic improvement plan as well as actioning base business items. This will be delivered in line with company values and in accordance with Santos Engineering Standards and the Santos Management System.
    *** Travel to the Cooper Basin is expected (occasional, on as need basis). Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Uphold compliance and adherence to standards for EHS performance and behaviour consistent with Company policies and procedures.
  • Drive risk reduction across Cooper Onshore assets, via the Integrated Risk Register (IRR) Process.
  • Work closely & collaboratively with Maintenance & Operations Leaders to meet or exceed Production and Reliability targets.
  • Provision of fit for purpose 'Fast Loop' and 'Slow Loop' reliability and rotating support/services to internal stakeholders.
  • Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement, cost out and efficiency improvements within the Reliability Management Plan cycle, to deliver asset availability and reliability performance at or above set targets.
  • Develop and Maintain Equipment Health Monitoring Systems and Dashboarding.
  • Provide asset Management for the Cooper Onshore surface equipment portfolio, inclusive of Asset Reliability KPI reporting incorporating but not limited to wellpad surface equipment, compression and power generation.
  • Technical Authority for relevant equipment within Mechanical/Machinery Discipline.
  • Manage and own equipment root cause analysis (RCA) investigations.
  • Provide mentorship to Junior Engineers.
  • About You

    Ideally, you will have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) or demonstrate significant training and experience within directly relevant role(s), within large corporate environments. We are seeking for professionals with the following essential skills and experience:
  • Demonstrated years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry/ MHF
  • Strong knowledge of standards and safe work practices within the Oil and Gas industry/ MHF
  • Other desirable experience for this position includes:
  • Providing indirect leadership of other engineers, trades persons &/or operators.
  • Scope development for equipment management and condition monitoring programs
  • Experience in rotating machinery
  • CPEng and RPEQ certification
  • A good general understanding of asset management and engineering design practices
  • Competent use and knowledge of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) preferably SAP
