    The Company


    Our client is an innovative company based in Byron Bay who have taken water activity sport to the next level. Over the past 6 years they have been designing, manufacturing, and building their specialised product which is targeted to a luxury market. Due to the products success our client has now branched out to Melbourne, The Netherlands, and San Francisco. The ever-growing engineering team now requires a dynamic Firmware Engineer to further develop and test new features to stay ahead of the competition.


    The Role

    • Working in the Melbourne office within the firmware engineering team, completing full end to end development whilst supporting the In-House R&D team based in Byron Bay.
    • Occasional hands-on unit testing of firmware alterations to the products characteristics, having the chance to trial the products new features with your updates.
    • Improving electronics and controls of the product to keep it at the forefront of its category and range.
    • Integrating new mobility/functionality traits by manipulating PID torque curves, working towards the best possible user experience.
    • Improving communications between the hardware controller and Bluetooth human interface device to create an even more seamless experience.
    • Working collectively with the entire engineering team to achieve the desired goals.
    • liaising with other branches to share knowledge and technical discoveries.


    Background

    • Tertiary qualification (Bachelor's or Masters) in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Systems, Information and Communication Technology, Software Engineering and Computer Science)
    • Broad understanding of Embedded & Back-End systems using Embedded C. Any exposure to NRF 52 (NORDIC) processors or any other microprocesses such as ARM or STM-32 would be desirable.
    • Exposure to other programming languages such as, C#, and Python would be advantageous.
    • Highly organised with the ability to articulate complex points in a well communicated manor.
    • Open and willing to learn new technologies and programs with an eagerness to be hands on in their approach to stay ahead of the curve.
    • Ideally this person will have a high level of interest or passion within the domain and any mobile application development experience is welcome
