    ABOUT Barrow Island
    Barrow Island is located around 60 kilometres from the mainland and approximately 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. It's also home to Chevron's Gorgon Project and WA Oil operations. It is the largest oil field discovered in Western Australia. Ertech has been a major service provider to Chevron Australia's Gorgon Project for over 10 years.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    This role is a Permanent full-time position based on Barrow Island on 2/2 FIFO roster.

    We have an exciting new opportunity for a HSE Officer (Environment) to join our dynamic team based on Barrow Island. This role would suit a recent University Graduate.

    The HSE Officer (Environment) will be responsible for minimising environmental risks and ensuring compliance with contractual environmental specifications, environmental legislation, regulatory requirements and Ertech standards.

    Reporting to the Environment Advisor, the role will also assist in providing guidance to all personnel in the areas of environmental programs, training, corrective actions, issues and successes. You will have delegated authority to stop work and lead/support corrective actions where hazards have been identified until risks are adequately controlled.

    Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

    • Assist in the development, monitoring and achievement of project Environmental objectives
    • Ensure Project compliance with Ertech Environmental procedures and implementation; manage corrective actions
    • Implement Project HSE processes in line with safety and environment law
    • Environmental data collection and management
    • Environmental sampling coordination
    • Project environmental reporting
    • Develop relationships with Client HSE Representatives
    • Develop and implement new ideas and solutions to solve problems or improve performance (project specific)

    ABOUT YOU

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Cert IV or higher in an environmental discipline, or equivalent experience
    • 0-3 years of relevant experience within the industry in similar or other roles (would suit a recent university graduate)
    • Environmental management and legislation knowledge
    • Proficiency with MS Office
    • Base understanding of established HSE systems and principles
    • Written and verbal presentation skills
    • Negotiating and influencing skills
    • First Aid/CPR
    • White Card
    • Driver's Licence
