Solutions Architect
Department of Parliamentary Services – Information Technology (IT)
- Shape and deliver secure, scalable and future‑focused enterprise solutions that underpin Parliament's digital transformation.
- Grade 6.1, $138,631 to $162, % superannuation
- Appointment type: 36 months, Fixed-term – Full time
During a typical day you will:
- Design and shape end‑to‑end solution architectures that align with Parliament's enterprise architecture standards, ICT strategy and major transformation programs (HCMS, ERP, CRM).
- Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and translate functional and non‑functional requirements into robust solution designs.
- Define secure, scalable, resilient and supportable architectures across hybrid, cloud and on‑premises environments.
- Provide architectural leadership and governance throughout project delivery—reviewing and validating designs from internal teams and vendors, ensuring adherence to standards and reference models.
- Lead the design and governance of enterprise integration patterns, including API‑led, event‑driven and cloud‑native architectures using Azure API Management and Azure Service Bus.
- Produce high‑quality architectural artefacts such as solution designs, architecture diagrams, impact assessments and technology standards to support governance and decision‑making.
- Ensure all solutions align with cybersecurity, privacy and data governance requirements.
You will be a great fit for this role if you:
- Bring proven experience delivering enterprise‑scale solution architectures (HCMS, ERP, CRM) across hybrid, multi‑cloud and on‑premises environments.
- Have strong capability with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and BDAT, along with mature modelling and structured documentation practices.
- Possess deep hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Azure—particularly Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus, Integration Services and DevOps‑aligned delivery.
- Understand modern integration architectures, including API‑led design, event‑driven patterns, CI/CD pipelines and interoperability standards.
- Can translate business requirements into practical, scalable and standards‑aligned solution designs that uphold architectural principles.
