About your Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑focused Quality Control professional to join our R&D team. In this hands‑on laboratory and site-based role, you will be responsible for conducting product testing, environmental monitoring, equipment calibration, and maintaining accurate QC documentation to ensure our products meet regulatory, certification, and customer requirements.
Working closely with the Technical Manager and production teams, you will play a vital role in product release, raw material assessment, customer sample analysis, and continuous improvement of laboratory processes and testing methods. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical lab work, problem‑solving, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality garden care products trusted across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct batch testing of Standards Marked products to meet AS3743 and AS4454, and support external audits when required.
- Perform testing on raw materials, composting piles, finished blended, granulated and liquid products, and organize external laboratory testing with timely follow‑up.
- Manage customer sample analysis, including sample intake, preparation, in‑house testing, coordinating offsite testing, and preparing reports (with results only released after payment).
- Carry out environmental monitoring and sampling to meet DWER and NGIA requirements, including monthly sump testing and bore water usage recording.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory and production testing equipment, perform daily checks, and arrange external service when needed.
- Keep laboratory records, SOPs, forms, product specifications, Masterfile documents, and SDS information updated and accurate.
- Analyze new raw materials and third‑party products, support R&D trials, internal audits, operator training, and continuous improvement of testing methods.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping, troubleshoot equipment issues, and assist with method validation and technical projects.
To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar quality control environment.
- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., BSc or related discipline).
- Experience within a manufacturing environment (advantageous).
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively across departments.
- High attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- Strong MS Office capability and experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Graduates with relevant work experience are also encouraged to apply.
