- Developing and implementing strategic communication plans to support project and programs (both short and multi-year).
- Building critical working relationships with (but not limited to) project managers, contractors, funding bodies, media outlets and Council's Communication & Engagement Team.
- Finding solutions to contentious and challenging issues to create positive outcomes.
- Working in a fast paced and constantly changing environment where your ability to work with ambiguity and be adaptable is essential.
- Communicating complex issues and information into simple messaging that is easily understood by a broad community and stakeholder base.
- Visiting work sites and meeting with contractors and key stakeholders.
- Qualifications and experience relevant to the role with an emphasis on developing and implementing long term communications for projects and providing a communications interface between customers and multi-function work teams.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to create informative and visual messages that present complex projects in a clear and concise manner.
- Extensive stakeholder management experience.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and proactively respond to issues as they arise.
