    Description

    We seeking an experienced communications professional to develop and implement innovative and effective communication and community engagement programs for projects, civil asset maintenance and construction works identified within Council's Capital Works Program (CWP).

  • Remuneration package commencing from $3,136.26 gpf with the opportunity to progress to 3, superannuation.

  • Your new role:

    Reporting directly to the Communications and Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing strategic communication plans to support project and programs (both short and multi-year).
  • Building critical working relationships with (but not limited to) project managers, contractors, funding bodies, media outlets and Council's Communication & Engagement Team.
  • Finding solutions to contentious and challenging issues to create positive outcomes.
  • Working in a fast paced and constantly changing environment where your ability to work with ambiguity and be adaptable is essential.
  • Communicating complex issues and information into simple messaging that is easily understood by a broad community and stakeholder base.
  • Visiting work sites and meeting with contractors and key stakeholders.
  • What you will need to succeed:

    The successful applicant will have:

  • Qualifications and experience relevant to the role with an emphasis on developing and implementing long term communications for projects and providing a communications interface between customers and multi-function work teams.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to create informative and visual messages that present complex projects in a clear and concise manner.
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and proactively respond to issues as they arise.
