    About the role

    Are you ready to utilise your technical claims and legislative expertise to be a part of transforming support for injured workers in Victoria, improving the recovery, social and work participation outcomes of injured workers?

    As a Claims Technical Specialist will provide expertise across the Claims and Recovery Support division to proactively provide highly specialised technical information and advice, whilst continuing the focus on injured worker experience and improving outcomes for injured workers.

    You will work collaboratively across the Claims and Recovery Support division and other teams within Worksafe to develop business solutions and improve capability of the team. This will be achieved through identifying areas where the team requires technical skills development, and proactively working with internal stakeholders to determine the best method of achieving the identified development opportunity.

    About you

    You are an exceptional team player with extensive knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Workers Compensation Legislation, paired with highly developed skills in coaching, influencing and relationship building. You will play a critical role in providing advice and building the capability of our Recovery and Support Advisors and Coordinators.

    Additionally, you will possess the following skills and experience:

    • Advanced communication capabilities and technical skills demonstrated by experience within the insurance compensation industry in a technical role
    • Ability to build rapport and empathy with injured workers and their support networks
    • Highly developed skills in coaching, influencing and relationship building
    • Capability to develop and support continuous improvement initiatives
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Knowledge of WorkSafe and its stakeholder landscape
    • Ability to work with different IT applications
