    The Community Learning and Library Services Team focuses on delivering innovative and responsive services to our community.     About the role:

    We are currently seeking a permanent part-time Senior Library Officer(s) to supervise a Library team during the weekend period and ensure the smooth operation and provision of services to our library customers - working Saturday, Sunday and agreed days throughout the week. This position could also suit two candidates in a job share arrangement with a view of either rotating or splitting the weekend shifts to allow for better work-life balance.

    Senior Library Officers will play a pivotal role in the delivery of services and programs to the community. If you are passionate about customer service and working in a team and enjoy a busy and varied environment, we would like to hear from you.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

  • Para professional tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Science and/or equivalent experience in related disciplines.
  • High-level technology and computer skills to support customers with the use of digital devices and experience with automated systems and information technology.
  • Ability to supervise and ensure the smooth operation of the library.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and demonstrated experience in the provision of information and customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, communicating with customers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong capacity to develop additional skills as required by changes affecting the library service.
  • Cleared working with children check.
