    Are you an accomplished Senior Executive wanting to play a key role in ensuring better health for all Australians enabled by connected, safe, secure and easy to use digital health services?

    The Australian Digital Health Agency (the Agency) is seeking talented and motivated candidates to fill a number of current and expected Senior Executive Service (SES) Band 1 positions across multiple divisions.

    As the steward for digital enablement of Australia's health system, the Agency has a lead role in coordinating national engagement, delivery and adoption of digital health to enable person-centred, connected healthcare.

    The Agency partners with healthcare providers, the Australian Government, state and territory governments and industry to connect, promote and deliver digital technologies across the health ecosystem.

    Our success relies on our commitment to good governance and cyber resilience, knowing and living our values, developing our people and forging strong relationships with all partners.

    There are three immediate vacancies to be filled.

    This process will also be used to create a merit pool of successful candidates, which may be used to fill future SES Band 1 vacancies and will be valid for 18 months from the date of advertisement.


    The three immediate vacancies are:
    Chief Financial Officer– Certified Practising Accountant or Chartered Accountant qualification are mandatory.
    Senior experience leading financial performance, management and procurement teams is essential for success in this role.

    General Counsel– Tertiary qualifications in law are mandatory, as well as being admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Australia or the Supreme Court of a State or Territory.

    Eligibility to hold an unrestricted practising certificate.

    Branch Manager, Architecture– Senior executive experience driving architecture and interoperability standards across a complex healthcare environment is considered essential for this role.

    The Agency has office locations in Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane.
    An alternate location may be considered with successful applicants on a case-by-case basis.

    Branch Managers (SES Band 1) perform critical leadership roles in the Agency and are responsible for achieving results in line with corporate and professional goals.

    SES in these roles will develop strategic directions for their teams, ensuring elements integrate to support higher level agency objectives and contribute to agencywide leadership and stewardship.

    These roles may have up to 10 direct reports and groups of teams up to 60 reporting to you.
    For all roles stakeholder engagement on sensitive and/or complex issues in order to seek/share information is a regular focus.
    It is expected you will actively build sustainable relationships within the agency, across the APS and with external parties.

    The Branch Manager is a highly visible leadership role within the Agency, with external Commonwealth and state and territory governments, healthcare providers, healthcare consumers and industry stakeholders.

    Both Generalist and Specialist SES at this level are expected to provide engaged, compassionate and thoughtful leadership, and where necessary, marshal expertise to achieve objectives and goals, with proven experience in change management.

    Strong corporate citizenship is expected of all roles at this level in order to contribute to the legislative and public policy obligations of the Agency.

    For our Generalist Stream– Our Generalist stream includes roles such as corporate enablers, policy and strategy leaders and clinical experts who are able to contribute to policy, strategy, delivery, stakeholder engagement and driving a place of excellence for our Agency.

    Leaders in this area are expected to bring deep expertise to their specific field, a service mindset and the ability to work in a matrix structure.

    For our Digital Stream– Our Digital stream supports foundational national health infrastructure and leads continuous improvement through human centred design and innovation.

    Digital Senior Executives are expected to have high level professional and technical skills in legacy and contemporary digital systems.

    These roles vary and include functions such as infrastructure strategy; delivery; product development and management; implementation and operations of critical systems.

    Expertise in the commercial management and ongoing service delivery performance of third-party providers, leading commissioning of new infrastructure and establishing corporate IT strategy improvements would be highly regarded.

    You must be Australian citizen to be employed in the Australian Public Service, under section 22(8) of thePublic Service Act 1999.

    You will have the ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
    You will have the ability to obtain and maintain a national police check.
