    About the restaurant

    Curry at Corio in Lara is a dine-in and take away Indian cuisine restaurant open six-day-a-week from 5pm to 9:30pm (closed on Mondays). A culinary haven where traditional Indian flavours are fused with modern innovation, Curry at Corio in Lara's menu features a wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian starters, curries, Indo-Chinese dishes, rice, breads, as well as a selection of desserts. The menu also includes a vegetarian and non-vegetarian banquet offering thaty caters for between two and four diners.

    About the role

    Curry at Corio in Lara is now seeking to recruit a qualified Chef to join its friendly team. The role will be responsible for the following key tasks:

    • Determine production schedules and staff rosters to ensure the dine-in, take away and banquets segments of the food preparation function are well staffed across a seven-day trading week;
    • Tailor relevant menus with management that best reflect the desired tastes and flavours of the customer base;
    • Define how dishes should be prepared and presented along with management to ensure consistency in the food preparation process;
    • Monitor the quality and timing of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation;
    • Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, including raw foods and ingredients;
    • Receipt and check the freshness of delivered and stored foods and ingredients;
    • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure they meet the necessary hygiene and quality standards;
    • Demonstrate relevant cooking techniques & advise kitchen staff on menu dish cooking procedures;
    • Instruct and supervise kitchen staff in preparing, cooking, seasoning, portioning and garnishing dishes from the restaurant's menus;
    • Select, train, supervise & performance managing kitchen staff;
    • Prepare, cook, season, portion and garnish dishes from the restaurant's menu;
    • Monitor sanitation practices to ensure kitchen staff follow the required hygiene standards and regulations.

    About the candidate
