    The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

    About the role

    The Procurement Support Officer is responsible for providing support for the management and/or sourcing of non-ICT goods and services State Purchase Contracts (SPC). SPCs are head contracts used by a broad range of Victorian government stakeholders and the role requires strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills as well as technical procurement and contract management capability.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Contribute to undertaking category management activities to facilitate effective outcomes for aggregated Victorian Government purchasing arrangements.
    • Support the ongoing contract management of State Purchase Contracts including the monitoring of performance targets and other key deliverables.
    • Provision of practical support in relation to the sourcing of State Purchase Contracts including the application of Victorian Government Purchasing Board policies.
    • Proactively contribute to the development and achievement of team deliverables, goals and strategies.
    • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and process improvements to maximise the efficient and effective delivery of the Procurement and Category Management team deliverables.
    • Maintain cooperative relationships with stakeholders, constructively working to resolve issues or escalate as appropriate.

    To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate

    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with an ability to clearly articulate outcomes, listen to customers / clients / stakeholders and address their requirements within agreed time frames.
    • Strong organisational skills and ability to problem solve to deliver excellent outcomes.
    • Experience in developing and documenting new processes, procedures and supporting materials.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a diverse workload and competing priorities.
    • Ability to participate proactively in the identification of opportunities for innovation in service delivery.
