    About the PositionWe're looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our Substations & Commissioning team within the Field Services division of Yurika.

    This is a permanent position be located in any major Queensland centre.
    This is a Professional & Managerial Grade two level position with salaries starting from $159k % superannuation.

    The RoleThe Commissioning Engineer is a professional engineer that delivers professional engineering assistance to Yurika through the application of well-developed engineering capability working as a member of a team.

    The Commissioning Engineer applies their knowledge and experience to provide safe, effective and efficient engineering solutions whilst developing and expanding their engineering knowledge and competency.

    The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for ensuring substation primary plant and secondary systems are commissioned in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures.

    Some of the accountabilities include but are not limited to:


    Provides professional engineering advice relating to substation commissioning and maintenance and ensures successful delivery of allocated tasks requiring proficiency in engineering techniques and methods, which are subject to review; this includes preparing complex engineering reports and technical documentation in accordance with the requirements of the Professional Engineers Act Queensland.

    Contributes to achieving the objectives of the team / workgroup by conducting and completing comprehensive investigations, engineering analysis, and/or projects as required and assisting with the formulation of policies, standards, guidelines and procedures

    Contribute to developing the capability of less experienced engineers and other employees through the provision of supervision, coaching, and mentoring where required and review work of engineers and technical staff and make recommendations on use of, and development of engineering tools.

    Undertakes technical research, develops business cases, writes engineering reports, prepares technical specifications for allocated projects and responsible for program delivery, engineering concept design, contract management and project management.

    Undertake detailed calculations, research and analysis, investigate new technologies and review of existing systems, undertake investigations into viable options for engineering projects and undertake project and/or contract activities as required
    Contribute to effective solution development by applying safe by design principles, risk management and customer service values throughout

    Deliver work within agreed scope on time, within budget, to suitable quality and in accordance with standards, accepted practices and required frameworkAbout YouYou have experience testing & commissioning a range of substations from 132, 220, & 275 k V.


    Furthermore you have demonstrated knowledge on the following:
    detailed knowledge of the safety requirements associated with High Voltage substations and associated substation plant commissioning.

    oral and written communication, teamwork, inter-personal and negotiating skills ability to build knowledge and currency and application of acts, regulations, and codes of practice relevant to the work being undertaken.

    ability in problem solving and application of engineering analysis and calculations
    sound knowledge of engineering calculations and analysis techniques
    knowledge and ability in information technology applications relevant to the work being undertaken
    ability to prioritise work to meet required targets understanding of the electricity supply industry including the ability to read and interpret complex electrical and electronic circuit diagrams, schematics, manuals, service instructions and data sheets
    knowledge of, and commitment to workplace health and safety, and environmental practicesEssentials
    Bachelor Degree in Engineering acceptable for membership of Institution of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category
    Current C Class Driver's LicenseDesirable
