    About the organisation
Forensicare is the state-wide specialist provider of forensic mental health services across Victoria. As the only agency in the state that provides clinical forensic mental health services tailored to, and spanning all components of, the mental health and criminal justice sectors, Forensicare has a unique perspective on mental health and public safety issues. With a primary focus on delivering clinical services within a recovery framework, Forensicare's services include the effective assessment, treatment and management of forensic patients, prisoners and clients. In addition, Forensicare operates Australasia's leading centre of excellence in forensic mental health and behavioural science research through the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science at Swinburne University of Technology.

    About the role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Executive Director Inpatient Operations is accountable for the operational management of the Inpatient Services at Thomas Embling Hospital in Fairfield, driving the development of inpatient services to realise Forensicare's strategic goals in delivering excellence in forensic mental health services. Overseeing business as usual while looking to the future, this position includes the strategic management and planning of service changes or enhancements at the same time as providing secure patient care and promoting community confidence in service delivery. In addition to collaborating with strategic and operational inputs to workforce planning, a critical priority will be as executive sponsor for operational readiness for the expanded Thomas Embling Hospital beds to be opened in June 2025, including the development of a fit-for-purpose operating model for the new facilities to address access, appropriate programs and pathways of care linked to the prisons and community services. As a member of Forensicare's executive team, the appointee will contribute to the overall leadership of the organisation as well as playing a crucial role in embedding Forensicare's integrated and person-centered, recovery-framework Model of Care. Critical to success will be fostering an engaged and energised team, and ensuring a safety-for-all workplace for staff and consumers.

Underpinning your well-honed abilities in managing and nurturing a broad range of stakeholders are your strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills. Harness your deep commitment to person-centered care in delivering excellence and leading growth of inpatient operations of this critical state-wide service.
