    Location: Collie, WA

It boasts three tier one thermal coal mines in New South Wales together with interests in three other metallurgical and thermal coal mines located in New South Wales and Queensland. Yancoal Australia also manages five other Australian coal mines on behalf of related parties. Yancoal currently employs over 3,000 people across its operations.

    Managed by Yancoal, Premier Coal is the leading coal producer in Western Australia. Operating an open cut coal mine near Collie in the South West of WA, the operation produces more than 3 million tonnes of coal per year for domestic supply with contracts to 2030.

    We have an opportunity for an Environment & Community Advisor to join our team at Premier Coal.

    About the Role

    Reporting to the Environment & Community Superintendent this role will provide professional and technical support in relation to the effective management of environmental obligations and community relations, including:

    • Undertaking environmental monitoring to demonstrate compliance
    • Continual development and improvement of the Environmental Management System and associated documentation/records.
    • Completing annual reporting including NPI, NGERS, Groundwater and others
    • Providing professional advice and support across the business on Environment and Community matters.
    • Proactive engagement with community and stakeholders.
    • Facilitating the annual Community Support Program
    • Assist site management in the delivery of a safe and productive workplace.

    Roster: Monday - Friday

    About You

    • Tertiary Qualifications in Environmental Science, Management or Engineering (or equivalent)
    • Current Driver's licence
    • Experience in a professional environmental role
    • Knowledge of environmental legislation, standards and management systems
    • Strong communication and relationship building skills are essential
    • Strong technical background in the areas of environmental monitoring, data management and reporting, including surface water, groundwater, air, noise and/or blast monitoring
