    Our well-established maintenance team based in Toowoomba are currently seeking a Signal Electrician to join the team on a permanent full-time basis.

  • About the Team
    Reporting to the Asset Maintenance Coordinator Toowoomba, you will work within a team that consists of 6 Signal Electricians, 5 Mechanical Systems Maintainers and 5 Mechanical Support Maintainer all working closely to cover the region. They are a supportive team that work together to cover large kilometres of our rail network predominately across the South West, West Moreton, Near North Coast and Central West.

    About the role:
    As a Signal Electrician you will carry out the installation, maintenance and repair of signalling equipment as well as report on the performance and condition of signalling assets. You will play a key role in achieving our vision of delivering world-class rail services for our customers by ensuring the safety and reliability of our assets and services.

    In this role you will:

  • Install, repair and adjust electrical signalling equipment.
  • Undertake scheduled maintenance activities on signalling equipment.
  • Attend signalling failures to analyse, repair and report on cause of failures.
  • Maintain records and documentation relating to signal maintenance and costing systems.
  • Report on actual work performed against the scheduled work program and report any equipment irregularities.
  • Work predominately between the hours of 0700 to 1600 on a 9-day fortnight
  • About you:

  • Certificate IV Railway Signalling
  • Current 'C' Class Drivers Licence
  • Current Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence or interstate equivalent that can be changed over prior to starting
  • Previous experience in the installation, maintenance and fault rectification of signalling equipment
  • Ability to effectively organise workload
  • Must have capacity to travel and work within regional Queensland
