    Description

Are you currently in your final year of study or have recently graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering?

If so, you might want to check out the graduate opportunities we're working on with a leading software product company based right here in Newcastle – Qvalent, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Westpac.

    About the company:
Qvalent specialises in creating software products for the financial and banking sector. Their core platforms are used by millions of people every day and process billions of dollars and transactions per hour for some of Australia's largest organisations.

Qvalent is an organisation that can offer career progression and growth, with many employees joining as graduates and working their way through to senior/lead level.

Please note this is a contract hybrid role based out of Newcastle, so you will need to be based in the Newcastle, Hunter, or Central Coast region.

    About the role:
You'll learn how to build and problem solve large scale enterprise applications. You'll be supported and guided by some of the best software engineers and team leaders with decades of experience, and learn best practices in an enterprise environment.

We are specifically looking for recent graduate engineers, or people graduating at the end of 2024 that might be able to work full-time hours or 4 days per week until you finish your degree.

With an office based in Wallsend, you'll be close to local shops and parking. There is also flexibility to work from home once you've become acquainted with their products and gone through onboarding processes.

    What you bring:

    • Recent graduate or final year with a Bachelor or Masters of Information Technology, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.
    • A supportive team player with a clear, positive style of communication.
    • Willing to start in a help desk position with a clear pathway to a Software Engineering position.
    • Currently based in Newcastle, NSW.
    • Ideally, you will have previous learning experience in Java, .NET, or Python.
