    Salary Range: $1,008 - $1,151 per 38 hour week + superannuation, with fortnightly RDO

  • The Position

    In this position, you will be required to undertake mowing and slashing of Council and RMS roads, reserves and Council properties in the Warrumbungle Shire Council local government area. This will involve operating and maintaining the tractor, slasher and mower, and all attachments, to control vegetation and cut grass in Council's local and regional road network. You will also be required to undertake general labouring duties such as traffic control, signage erection and guide posting as well as using small plant such as chainsaws, mowers and hand tools to perform other tasks as required.

    Essential Requirements

  • Commitment to Council's Mission, Values and Code of Conduct
  • Understanding of work health and safety (WHS) in the workplace and commitment to a positive contribution to WHS in the workplace and compliance with Council and legislative requirements
  • Class C NSW Drivers Licence
  • Work Health and Safety General Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, including the operation, servicing and maintenance of a tractor, mower and/or slasher
  • Demonstrated competency and experience in undertaking specified labouring duties for civil projects and maintenance tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to both work unsupervised and independently and as part of a team, fostering an environment based on teamwork and cooperation
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet predetermined works schedules and determine material and labour requirements to complete basic work components
  • Current Traffic Controller ticket
  • Desirable Requirements

  • Certificate III in Plant Operations
  • Chemical Handling Certificate
  • Verification of Competency for front end load operations to allow operation of the tractor bucket
  • Current Implement Traffic Control Plans ticket
  • Level 2 Chainsaw Ticket
  • MR driver's licence
