    • $157,266.00 per annum + superannuation
    • Full Time, fixed term position until 13/6/2025 (parental leave)

    Purpose

    The Senior Manager Prevention Excellence provides support to the Director Programs in strategic planning and decision making processes and oversees the Prevention Excellence function, which is responsible for providing thought leadership, ensuring alignment and driving continuous improvement across the Programs branch.

    The Senior Manager Prevention Excellence will lead a multi-disciplinary team including evaluation and monitoring and project support. This team drives continuous improvement by ensuring systemic issues are identified and acted on globally, provides analysis and recommendations to improve health and safety outcomes for Victorian workers and supports knowledge management, as well as managing program standards, reporting and governance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • You will provide effective leadership to, and manage a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team fostering a culture of innovation and thought leadership
    • You will oversee the project planning lifecycle prcess across the Programs branch to ensure alignment, consistency and quality of output.
    • You will drive proactive identification and escalation of issues, risks and dependencies across portfolios
    • You will also develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively, to identify and understand their views, utilising a variety of negotiation, presentation, communication and education techniques
    • You will contribute advanced expertise and knowledge to strategic planning, reporting and governance processes and influence business planning processes across WorkSafe to ensure alignment with business priorities and strategic direction
    • Finally you will provide strategic advice, problem solving and issues management for stakeholders in relation to complex and potentially controversial matters

    About you

    You are an experienced people leader who wants to make a difference. Your communication and organisational skills are exemplary- You have a passion for health & safety. You are a team oriented person who enjoys leading an impact on your team and stakeholder.

    You will also possess:

    • A knowledge of or experience working in Occupational Health & Safety, with understanding of regulatory approaches preferred
    • You have relevant technical and tertiary qualifications, skills and/or experience in public service, business management / administration, project managementor related fields
    • You also have a demonstrated proficiency and significant experience in managing multiple complex and high profile projects to achieve sustainable outcomes
    • You have extensive experience in people leadership including experience in leading a diverse multidisciplinary team and demonstrated capability to motivate and develop employees
    • Finally, you have experience of managing and influencing senior and diverse stakeholder groups
