    Australian Strategic Materials Ltd (ASM) is an ASX listed emerging integrated producer of critical metals for new growth industries, high technologies and sustainable energy solutions. Our "mine to metals" business model is to extract, refine and manufacture high-purity metals and alloys, supplying direct to global technology manufacturers.

    ASM are seeking an enthusiastic Principal ESG & Risk to join the team located in West Perth. Reporting to the Vice President – Risk & Corporate Services, you will have the opportunity to shape our sustainability approach and create legacy for our risk management practices. We seek a candidate who has a passion for these fields and relevant proven experience in ESG management, sustainability or related roles. You must have knowledge of global ESG reporting frameworks and demonstrated ability to translate ESG strategy into execution across global operations and functions. With excellent communication skills, you are a deep sustainability enthusiast and have strong project and risk management skills.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Develop and continually grow a fit for purpose ESG strategy for our mine to metal business model.
    • Provide expert ESG advice to the CEO, VP Risk & Corporate Services and wider business leaders.
    • Partner with our business leaders to drive high performance in sustainable outcomes towards meeting our ESG targets, through the implementation of the ESG vision and relevant initiatives throughout our organisation.
    • Support the implementation of the ASM System of Risk Management across operations, project and functions, based on the principles of ISO31000.
    • Facilitate risk assessment workshops and other related risk management routines.
    • Provide support, training and coaching to the business on all things ESG and Risk Management.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Relevant industry qualification for ESG. Qualification in risk management is desirable.
    • At least four years experience in ESG management, sustainability or related roles.
    • Strong knowledge of global ESG reporting frameworks, legislations and demand horizon.
    • Experience in risk management practices across mining sector and projects.
    • Knowledge and experience of implementing and/or maintaining compliance with ISO31000 principles.
    • Strong project management and facilitating skills.
    • Appreciation of rare earths business and customer value drivers.
    • Strong influencing skills and business partnering experience with the capacity to achieve outcomes through collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders.

    Travel may be required for this role.
